I want to test your patch thoroughly, but I cannot repro the original issue
any more. It happened but rarely in initial testing. I will be rolling 1.8
to production servers tonight, and watch them closely. They carry much
higher load than the test server, used only in internal agent testing. On
the first sign of a trouble, I'll give your patch a go. Give me a week or
so.
