happen.

The bug happens several times a day.

I will definitely test your patch, I've already applied the patch provided
earlier and it showed a large improvement on our system. However we have
still seen the SIP channel failing to respond to new incoming messages, but
felt it had more to do with issue https://issues.asterisk.org/view.php?id=17888.
Nevertheless this last change in your patch seem to be logical as well and
I'll apply it asap.
However I don't have any real way to reproduce the issue on my system, so
it will be a matter of time to learn whether or not its really fixed. 
Perhaps you know an easy way to reproduce it?
