Summary:                    No package includes app_fax.so
Description: 
There is no package in AsteriskNOW which includes app_fax.so.

Attempting to build only this module myself results in Asterisk reporting
that the compile-time options for the module were not the same as for
Asterisk itself (see https://issues.asterisk.org/view.php?id=17962).

The only way I have found to install this is to rebuild Asterisk from
source, which rather defeats the purpose of AsteriskNOW.

A RPM file containing app_fax.so and depending on spandsp built with the
same options as the rest of Asterisk would solve this problem very neatly.

15 Digium already provides fax RPM packages for AsteriskNOW (res_fax and
res_fax_digium), which provide a licensed version of the industry's leading
fax modem software from Commetrex . Digium offers the first concurrent fax
channel at no charge. 

Spandsp is third-party software that is not distributed or packaged by
Digium. If you want to build your own RPM for Asterisk, please use the
Asterisk source RPMs from
http://packages.asterisk.org/centos/5/current/SRPMS/.

Digium's Fax for Asterisk is available in RPMs from
http://packages.digium.com/centos/5/current/. Also, AsteriskNOW 1.7.1
includes a FreePBX module that install Fax and other Digium add-ons from
within the web interface.
