Summary: Asterisk GUI Checking write permission for GUI
folder and detecting hardware
Description:
Hi
I installed Asterisk 1.6 and Asterisk GUI fresh today. I used Yum
installation to do so.
I noticed that Asterisk GUI is displays "Checking write permission for GUI
folder for more than 5 minutes" and then displays "detecting hardware for
more than 10 mintues". After 15 min we get the home page of Asterisk GUI".
I never faced this issue when i installed Asterisk GUI a mont back on
another machine which is still working fast than new version.
Please assist.
Note: My friend is facing this problem when he installed Asterisk 1.6
update two days back through Linux automatic update.

giridharp: I think it would be good for you to read this blog post so that
you can understand the difference between Asterisk versions.
1.6.0.x vs. 1.6.1.x vs. 1.6.2.x are all MAJOR upgrades and not minor
updates. It would be the equivalent of going from 1.2 to 1.4.
