This tends to reproduce for me only on transatlantic calls.

I just built 1.8.8.1 for use on my openWRT (trunk, reasonably recent)
instance.

This bug now crashes the system hard, requiring a reboot without fail. 
Once the bug has begun to show up (audio begins to break up) the CLI dies,
all other open shells on the system go unresponsive, and after 45-90
seconds of intense activity on the Ethernet (the only thing I can do is
watch the LEDs) memory is exhausted (I assume) and I get a reboot.

I symlinked /var/log/asterisk/messages to /dev/null; it slowed down the
process some but didn't stop it.
