Summary:                    Turn on mode=new as default (say.conf)
Description: 
the only way to get the bugs located and fixed is if we enable it
the feature has been in the system sins 1.4 and is still using the old
format as default

I dont mind adding some more of the configs
but we need to have a plan for when we will change
as people tend to make changes in one of the files
