Summary: [patch] ISDN BRI does not recover from line faults
Description:
DAHDI Version: 2.3.0.1 Echo Canceller: MG2
Libpri version: libpri-1.4.11.1

About once every 3-4 weeks, some sort of error occurs on one or more of
three Sovitel ISDN BRI circuits. Afterwards, all calls fail, and there is
no logging information available on call attempts:

The following appeared in the messages log about the time of the failure:

[Jun 30 12:13:16] WARNING[3241] chan_dahdi.c: Detected alarm on channel 5:
Red Alarm
[Jun 30 12:13:16] NOTICE[3239] chan_dahdi.c: PRI got event: Alarm (4) on
Primary D-channel of span 2
[Jun 30 12:13:16] WARNING[3239] chan_dahdi.c: No D-channels available!
Using Primary channel 6 as D-channel anyway!
[Jun 30 12:13:16] WARNING[2131] chan_dahdi.c: Detected alarm on channel 4:
Red Alarm
[Jun 30 12:13:44] NOTICE[2131] chan_dahdi.c: Alarm cleared on channel 4
[Jun 30 12:13:44] NOTICE[3241] chan_dahdi.c: Alarm cleared on channel 5
[Jun 30 12:13:44] NOTICE[3239] chan_dahdi.c: PRI got event: No more alarm
(5) on Primary D-channel of span 2

Further outgoing call attempts reported:

We have provided the office staff a special dial code which restarts DAHDI
and emails us:

Thank you. I upgraded to v1.4.11.3 (from v1.4.11) and applied the patch.

I think the following error can safely be ignored:
/sbin/ldconfig: /usr/lib/libiksemel.so.3 is not a symbolic link

I verified that this:

[root at Moscow-Asterisk libpri-1.4.11.3]# ls -l /usr/lib/libpri*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1463074 Aug 10 19:47 /usr/lib/libpri.a
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root      13 Aug 10 19:47 /usr/lib/libpri.so ->
libpri.so.1.4
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1000590 Aug 10 19:47 /usr/lib/libpri.so.1.4

were the same size/data as these:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1463074 Aug 10 19:47 libpri.a
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root      13 Aug 10 19:47 libpri.so -> libpri.so.1.4
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1000590 Aug 10 19:47 libpri.so.1.4

BTW: any hope of support for NI-1 BRI? I've got a residential ISDN line
which is very cheap (only $8 more than a non-ISDN and that's with two
B-channels and unlimited 56k voice local calling). It's connected to a
dying Motorola Bitsurfer Pro (and I ordered a bag full of them on E-bay,
and all of the new ones were dying, too). If I disconnect the line, it
cannot be reconnected, because the residential ISDN tariff has been
withdrawn. But if there's no hope of Asterisk support ever, its numbers
may get ported to a SIP provider.
