The bug happens several times a day.

The problem hasn't recurred after disabling optimizations. The particular
Asterisk instance has crashed once since then, Friday the 16th, but not
with "Failed to perform masquerade", and the valgrind log doesn't say
anything about local_hangup or similar.

The only interesting bit around the time of the crash is:

valgrind: m_mallocfree.c:243 (get_bszB_as_is): Assertion 'bszB_lo ==
bszB_hi' failed.
valgrind: Heap block lo/hi size mismatch: lo = 88, hi = 4294967295.
Probably caused by overrunning/underrunning a heap block's bounds.

which isn't very enlightening.
