Summary: 64bit Host OS, 32bit OpenVZ/Virtuozzo VPS, Dahdi
does not work
Description:
VPS systems are becoming more common with OpenVZ/Virtuozzo being the best
for Asterisk. In order to get MeetMe conferencing to work on a VPS,
Zaptel/Dahdi needs to be installed on the Host OS because that is where the
Kernel resides.
The most common configuration is 64bit Host OS, 32bit VPS. Unfortunately
Zaptel/Dahdi does not work in this mixed environment. It only seems to
work if both Host and VPS are 32 bit or both are 64bit.
It would be a convenient if Dahdi could be made to work in a mixed
environment. Not sure if this should be called a Feature request or a bug.
Many Kernel Modules work in Mixed OpenVZ/Virtuozzo environments but
Zaptel/Dahdi is not one of them.
