Summary: Asterisk rejects t38 reinvite when using local
channels
Description:
I noticed this behavior when running 1.4.21.1 and also found the same
behavior with 1.4.24.1.
If I set up a fax call incoming to asterisk doing t38 passthrough to
another device, asterisk rejects the t38 reinvite with a "488 Not
acceptable here". If I make the call not using local channels, it works. I
need to use local channels because of other feature interactions to this
device that require it.
Can t38 support be added to local channels? I will attach a packet
capture; let me know if any additional information is needed and I will get
it to you.

This is unfortunately not possible for Asterisk 1.4, as it would require
major changes to the way T38 works. This is certainly possible though in
the 1.6 series and should already work with chan_local there.
