Following instructions on http://www.asterisk.org/downloads/yum

Added repos.

[root at localhost~]# yum install asterisk16 asterisk16-configs
asterisk16-voicemail dahdi-linux dahdi-tools libpri

Results in--

--> Finished Dependency Resolution
asterisk16-core-1.6.0.17-1_centos5.i386 from asterisk-current has
depsolving problems
  --> asterisk16-core conflicts with asterisk14-core
asterisk14-1.4.26.3-1_centos5.i386 from asterisk-current has depsolving
problems

The EPEL repository has broken and conflicting dependencies.

You'll need to remove it and all associated packages.
