Summary: Asterisk wont compile if gmime-devel lib is not
installed
Description:
My system didn't have gmime headers installed and because of that I wasn't
able to build Asterisk. SuSe 10.3
configure didn't recognize this issue.

configure uses gmime-config to determine the location of the header files.
Can you verify that without gmime-devel installed that you have
gmime-config installed? And if so, determine which package installed it?
