Summary: Cannot add multiple trunks with same username using
version 2.0 of GUI
Description:
The new GUI uses the "username" field to set the context names in
users.conf and extensions.conf while the old GUI used the "trunkname".
This change was implemented because of AA50-2113. However I believe that
this change is flawed in both theory and implementation. See exchange in
lists.digium.com attached below...

This is nothing to do with having two trunks for the same provider. It is
having two trunks with separate providers that require the same username.
Say you have VoIP provider A which you use for domestic calls, and VoIP
provider B that you use for international calls. And both providers use
the same "username". With the current GUI design it is impossible to
configure these two providers... using the "username" as the basis for the
asterisk context is the problem.

In asterisk GUI v1, the trunkname was used. This is a much better
solution. I am asking that you revert to the GUI v1 implementation. It is
a two-line change...
var trunk=tr.trunkname;
in two places (one for SIP trunk, other for IAX trunk). I have tested it
with all providers that I use.

If there are specific VoIP providers that require that the [context] is
named the same as "username" then surely you can just enter the username
into the trunkname field?

David.
