Summary:                    NMI errors and server freeze on newer kernels
Description: 
I get NMI errors (and after a while server freezes completely) when
starting Zaptel on kernel 2.6.27.5 (also tried some older kernel versions
and older 1.4 Zaptel versions). Everything works perfectly on kernel
2.6.20.21 but not on 2.6.21.7. Full details and log in 'additional
information' section.

Note: severity is 'block' because we need to use newer kernel but we can't
because Zaptel does not work. Therefore the system is unusable.
