Description:
this is more or less my current SIP playground, that i want to share with
others.
maybe some of these ideas could be the starting point for properly
implemented features within asterisk. please feel free to use this for
inspiration.
some of the features are highly experimental. so be warned!

After long consideration, we have decided that this patch isn't something
that we can apply to Asterisk. We have a strong architectural policy that
we do things in a channel technology independent way. Unfortunately, in
this case, this is a very SIP specific patch. To be able to do such a
thing such that it is architecturally compatible with Asterisk would be a
lot more work.
If someone wanted to work on such a patch, then let's talk about the
planned implementation ahead of time on the asterisk-dev mailing list so
that we can come up with a solution that fits something that we could
merge.
