Summary:                    ForkCDR() with 'v' option crashes * - only when

Description: 
As in the summary. See gdb output attached - unfortunately wasn't able to
produce them with 'DONT_OPTIMIZE' flag enabled, as this issue occurs only
when 'DONT_OPTIMIZE' is disabled.
