I am using the Fedora Directory Server for LDAP. The syntax of FDS's schema
seems to be a little different than that of asterisk.ldap-schema.patch. I
implemented the necessary changes to my FDS schema and then "ported" them
to asterisk.ldap-schema.patch. As you pointed out, this does not quite
work.
What I can say is that the realtime LDAP backend does not work when I try
to use it and the example schema and res_ldap.conf to configure SIP users
and extensions. The patches above fix this for me and now I am using the
realtime LDAP backend with FDS. Since the asterisk.ldap-schema is not
compatible with my LDAP server, I think someone else may need to "port" my
patch to the preferred schema format.
