when configuring a T1 in my experience lbo is usually 0 and in fact I have
seen issues with the lbo set to 1

You are right. 0 is indeed a much saner default for LBO. However this has
already been fixed in r3541 in 1.4 (slightly earlier in 1.2) and is
included in latest versions (1.2.23 , 1.4.8).
