Summary:                    timeout value should accept floating point numbers
Description: 
Example, setting digit timeout value to 1.5 seconds should be accepted. 
Currently, it rounds down to nearest whole number.

Also the valgrind output is attached. This might not be part of this bug,
but I haven't had a chance to try trunk without the patch... sorry :(
