Summary: CallingName Facility IE not transmited to Meridian
Option/11 PBX
Description:
I'm trying to connect an asterisk box to a Nortel Meridian O/11 PBX using a
digium TE120P Pri card.
Everything works well expect the callingname displaying stuff. Calling
names from Nortel are displayed on IP phones connected to asterisk but the
reverse isn’t working.
It may seem not important but it could be limitative when I plan to
“extend” my meridian capacity using the power of asterisk. The success
of this project depends of making this extension the more seamless as
possible. People with IP phone must have the same services as with Nortel
extensions.

Well, I read all I found on the net, but I was unable to correct this
problem.
The signalling protocol that I use is Qsig and my Zapata.conf is the one I
attached to this bug report. Also attached are: one example of asterisk pri
intense debugging on receiving a call from the pri interface
(pri-nortel2ast.txt); one example of asterisk pri intense debugging on
making a call from an IP phone (pri-ast2nortel.txt).

I think that the format of the Facility IE is not in the right format and
the PBX discards this information (maybe this is what the STATUS message
received from the PBX (on line 57 of pri-ast2nortel.txt) wants to tell…

Is there anything that I could do to pass the Information Elements, namely
the calling name to the PBX?

I’ll appreciate any help or suggestion!

Thanks to all.

Your switch is sending us the callername in a facility IE with a protocol
profile field of 0x11 (Remote Operations Protocol). We are sending it with
a protocol profile field of 0x1f (Networking extensions) which should be
acceptable in accordance with the ECMA Q.SIG standards which we support.
Can you find out why your switch is rejecting this?
