Description: 
I had the same problem reported at the issue
http://bugs.digium.com/view.php?id=0008834. I verified that this
issue has been solved at the trunk version since revision
http://bugs.digium.com/view.php?id=51193 but in the
main tarball version and in the branch 1.4 version it was not applied.

I´m usinhg the 1.4.13 version.

The reason it was not fixed in 1.4 is because support for the 500ms delay
was never added to 1.4, only in trunk so your issue is elsewhere. Please
upload console output and anything useful to track it down.
