Hi, 
Here is the patch to add new app WaitForNoise to accompany WaitForSilence
app.
WaitForNoise has been implemented in the same module as WaitForSilence
(app_waitforsilence) to use common code and avoid copy-paste.
The patch itself incorporates the patch from issue # 0011235 so you can
use just this one if both bugs are applicable :)

Yes, it overlaps with AMD, a bit different though.
My usecase is to wait for voice activity on the channel for a certain
amount of time.
If there's nothing above silence threshold - hangup.
AMD is too excessive for this case.
