Like you said, I want the interface to be consistent.  In that light, I do
not feel this patch is appropriate for commit as it certainly does not make
things more consistent.  However, I'm glad that you wrote it if it will
make people happy.

We probably need to revisit the CLI command structure.  If most people
want it the other way, then fine, I don't really care.  We just need to
pick a way, and make it consistent.  That was the whole point of the
changes made in 1.4, but it sounds like we chose the wrong way ...
