Try recompiling (deinstall/remake) all external Asterisk channel drivers, like
zaptel, chan_capi, ... and not the libraries, after that you install
Asterisk. I'm not sure if it helps.

--HPS

I tried everything but it's still a no go. So today I backed up my server and then blasted the drives away with a fresh install using 6.1-RELEASE. I am updating the ports collection now. This machine is an old P166 and that takes about 30-45 minutes. Then I will rebuild * from scratch. Since it will need everything reinstalled it will take about 26 hours to do this on this old server. And that's if I manage to catch all the screens that require input. It's going to be a long night.

Which brings me to my real question. I have a really fast AMD64 machine that I occassional run 6.1-RELEASE with and it screams. The * build on it only takes about 30 minutes. I've been told that I can use it to cross compile software...but as usual, no one can tell me how. The only answers I've gotten on this are RTFM, but I can't find this information anywhere in the handbook and countless google and yahoo searches have only yielded sparce references to the subject. Can anyone tell me how I cross compile between these two machines or where I can find detailed instructions on how to do it?

BTW - Remember, I'm updating the ports collection first so when it's all done I will have *-1.2.12.1 on this machine. If it craps out with the same errors I'm going to shoot myself with a water pistol filled with Jack Daniels.
