Digium does not officialy support any other os then Linux.
I have talked to Mark Spencer and he says digium has no plan to officialy
support BSD and if we want zaptel we have to port it.
Digium has been this way since I origanly ported AsteriskBSD and got it to
build. Way back when with the help of Richard Murphy.
