FYI,
I've found that madplay decode algorithm creates more hiss than mpg123.
For now I am using native mp3 MoH with Asterisk CVS, which compiles and 
runs flawlessly on my latest FreeBSD 5.x * boxes with cdr and buddies 
mysqled.
