[Asterisk-bsd] CPU usage

I'm sure this question has been asked before but I couldn't find an  
answer.

I'm using asterisk with a TDM400P on FreeBSD 4-STABLE. It seems to be  
doing a lot of interrupts and using about 8% of the cpu at all times.  
This seems like it's related to mpg123, and/or to the TDM400P card  
triggering interrupts.

Can anyone point me to info on how to handle this?
