Sorry to hear you're having this problem Randy, maybe the
port will not build on 7-current ?

On 6.0-stable this stage looks like:

===>  Building for zaptel-0.11
make -C zaptel
Warning: Object directory not changed from original /usr/ports/misc/zaptel/work/
zaptel-freebsd-0.11/zaptel
@ -> /usr/src/sys
machine -> /usr/src/sys/i386/include
cc -O2 -fno-strict-aliasing -pipe -g -Wall -D_KERNEL -DKLD_MODULE -nostdinc -I-
  -I. -I@ -I@/contrib/altq -I@/../include -I/usr/include -finline-limit=8000 -fn
o-common  -mno-align-long-strings -mpreferred-stack-boundary=2  -mno-mmx -mno-3d
now -mno-sse -mno-sse2 -ffreestanding -Wall -Wredundant-decls -Wnested-externs -
Wstrict-prototypes  -Wmissing-prototypes -Wpointer-arith -Winline -Wcast-qual  -
fformat-extensions -std=c99 -o gendigits gendigits.c -lm
./gendigits
awk -f @/tools/makeobjops.awk @/kern/device_if.m -h
awk -f @/tools/makeobjops.awk @/kern/bus_if.m -h
awk -f @/tools/vnode_if.awk @/kern/vnode_if.src -p
awk -f @/tools/vnode_if.awk @/kern/vnode_if.src -q
awk -f @/tools/vnode_if.awk @/kern/vnode_if.src -h
