Folks,

Unless I miss my guess, there’s a fair amount of frustration built up among the readership of this mailing list around the topic of fax.

Many of you have figured out how to carve very successful businesses out of re-selling (or re-reselling, or re-re-reselling) SIP service from the same short list of top tier carriers, but those upstream carriers don’t have very good T.38 Fax Over IP implementations and as a consequence, neither do you. If you’re tired of recommending your customers keep a POTS line around for faxing and tired of answering support calls from customers who decide to ignore that advice, then I have some interesting news for you.

We can take 99% of those annoying, time-consuming and customer satisfaction lowering fax problems off your desk.

Modern Asterisk is very good at T.38 passthrough, and we’re very good at far-end NAT traversal so we can reach your customer’s devices no matter where they are (OK, maybe we’ll have to turn off SIP ALG every once in awhile but this is what we do for a living). Simply configure a SIP trunk to T38Fax.com <http://t38fax.com/>, configure your Asterisk-based switching platform to use us selectively as your upstream carrier for your customers’ fax traffic, and you’re done. The minutes won’t be as cheap as Level3, but it’s a small % of your overall monthly billing and will disappear into the noise, along with all those headaches.

We’ve begun to document our Asterisk interop recommendations at:

	http://www.t38fax.com/support/knowledgebase/asterisk/ <http://www.t38fax.com/support/knowledgebase/asterisk/?utm_campaign=Asterisk-Biz&utm_content=T.38%20Introduction%20-%20Asterisk%20KB%20Doc&utm_source=email>

There’s obviously more to come there, especially on the Asterisk 12 and 13 front. We’re very interested in supporting Asterisk (in all of it’s wonderful flavors) as a fully certified interop platform, and would love to see a few of you sign up for our free trial offer, kick the tires, and stress-test our infrastructure a bit. Our support team would be happy to provision multiple DIDs and concurrent call paths for you - just ask once you’ve signed up for our basic trial. We provide a free calling credit, and if you mention the asterisk-biz mailing list to our sales team at any time before the end of your trial, we’ll double that.

In case you’re still a little confused about how we can help, have a look at some of our other use-cases here:

We think most asterisk-biz readers will be interested in Scenario 4.

Thank you for your time, and please to feel free to reach out to me directly with any additional questions.

-Darren

PS - Please not that at the present time, our services are only available in North America, and free trials are limited to that region. We hope to have news for international customers in the coming months!
