I would not recommend Sphinx for Telephony. It was trained for normal
desktops though there were wsj vocabularies but still far from perfect.

It is worth putting some money in ASR systems - however if you are
concerned about costs, you could look at cloud systems.

Good luck and keep us updated on how it is working for you. We tried 20
months ago and far from production quality. My 2 cents.
