[asterisk-biz] DIDX Query

I use DIDx occasionally. I really don't like to. Their site is slow and
awful, the design is bad and not well thought out, their API is useless for
actually finding and purchasing DIDs, and the 50 DID or $50/month
requirement is annoying, though from a business sense I understand the
motivation.

Of the 10 DIDs I actually wanted from them (I have 50 NW Toledo Ohio
numbers if anyone is interested), two were ported out of the service within
a month, and NOT by my customer/end user. The other 8 worked fine AFAIK,
and their customer service folk are responsive.

The reasons I avoid DIDx are:

   * Pricing isn't really all that great
   * Hard to find numbers with their particularly bad interface
   * API is not able to buy and search numbers
   * Website is really, really awful and slow
   * "Talk Time" is a separately billed and paid amount of money you have to
leave in your account, minimum of $100. I have $99.36 sitting there
doing nothing for me. I have no idea if I'll ever get the remaining
balance back, but my gut says it's 50/50

Rehan and Suzanne are nice (I've met Suzanne in person, not Rehan) and
always try and be accomodating when you need something, usually more so
when you are complaining on a public forum. But the things I don't like
about DIDx, the things I've emailed and complained directly to Rehan about,
haven't changed in the 4 years I've been a member, which bugs me.

I'm sure I'll get an email from Rehan or someone directly asking me for
specifics, and I'm not going to respond because I have already done so in
the past.

I do use them when they have a DID in a place I need for a customer at a
rate I find reasonable. This occurs pretty rarely. My level of faith and
trust in DIDx has remained low and skeptical over the 4 years I've used
them.

I've been very happy with the pricing from Vitelity and DIDww and Binfone.
I continue to look for other Inbound DID and Termination providers, but
those three I have dealt with for several years and feel comfortable
recommending them.
