[asterisk-biz] Asterisk/Digium Press Opportunities: Community Contacts

Hello -

We at Digium talk to reporters regularly, and we often are asked
for contacts in the Asterisk community who might be interested in
talking about their experiences or industry perspectives. We have a
fairly decent list of possible contacts in various sectors of the
industry, but many of these contacts are dispersed in a variety of
personal address books around the company. Perhaps it's time to both
collect this data in one place for our use for companies which we're
already working with, and also then collect a few new entries of
people who wouldn't mind us giving contact data to press outlets who
might ask for particular topic areas. While these press inquiries are
being sent to Digium (the company) they are really asking about
Asterisk (the project) and so I'm hoping to collect information from
people who are looking to talk about Asterisk and their experiences
with Open-Source telephony systems built on Asterisk.

There really aren't many downsides for putting your name in this
list. You might get the opportunity to get some free press, the
Asterisk project gets a good write-up, Digium helps the writer, and
the writer gets a quick response to an inquiry. Everyone is happy!

We won't use the data you enter here for anything other than our
press contacts; we won't mail anything unrelated with press inquiries
to the email address you provide, and we'll try to inform you via
email or via phone any time there might be someone contacting you to
whom we have given your contact data. We won't give out your email
address or contact data to anyone other than writers who we believe
are legitimate authors working on a relevant story.

Please fill in the data here if you're interested in being in our
list of possible names to which we could forward press inquiries:

PS: Apologies for cross-posting this, but I've found that there are
often distinct and separate groups of readers in the three most active
lists operating in the community. This seems to be an item that would
find interest to varying degrees in all three lists.
