because this means more calls actually connect. You can have
a great quality route with high ACD - but if the ASR is only
10% then it's pointless as 90% of calls will just get bounced.

The higher the ACD the better because this typically indicates
that the route is good quality (people talk longer). Another
very important aspect to ACD is that high ACD also indicates
less false answers, see below:

FAS: False Answer Supervision - it's a fancy name to basically
having the route operator rip you off and transmit an answered
signal and start billing you as soon as it starts ringing, many
times even if they don't actually deliver your calls anywhere.
In this case ACD will be very low because calls aren't actually
getting through - they're just billing you as-if they got through.

That's all I could think of right now..

> Folks,
>
> While choosing a carrier, there are certain parameters that
> should be understood. Does anyone (e.g. a supplier) have any
> data on what those terms are and what they mean?
> Its a business relevant information and hence the posting
> here. Hoping to get some answers.
>
>
>
> Thanks a in advance.
> PS: I am interested in explanation for terms such as ASR,
> ACD etc and what they actually mean? A pointer to the
> webpage explaining the details would suffice as well.
