David,
Nice to hear from you.
The Sip/Simple interface for Asterisk you are working on is a great idea.
Counterpath has a working solution that includes an SMPP gateway.
Perhaps I should talk to you about it.
Should I wait till after the release in September or could I get a preview ?
B.T.W. I have been approved by the consortium for the AMR codec, still in
the process of working out the financial details.
Regards,
Abdul Hakeem

Abdul -

We're working on something like that for SMS at Burning Man this
year, but probably won't make a public release until September, after
the stress test. It uses Asterisk for address resolution and IP
registration information and should be compatible with any SIP/SIMPLE
interface. It does not yet include an SMPP gateway, but that should
be easy to add if there's serious interest.
