[asterisk-biz] SMS gateway API.

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knows of a bi-directional open source SMS API for
Asterisk based on SIP/SIMPLE.
What I am looking to do is to process SMS messages from Sip clients, if the
SMS message is destined for off-net it should be routed via SMPP to MO's or
Service Aggregators.
In essence it should support e.164 & be capable of looking up users
registered to Asterisk, and if the user is not, it should then route the SMS
via SMPP.
All thoughts are welcomed.
