Telemarketing, while annoying (to me) is a very big piece of the
economy. Providing you are on the DNC and the telemarketer is
scrubbing their lists and have a an efficient "Opt-Out" option, it is
not SPAM.

If telemarketing was totally banned, MANY business (who pay corporate
tax, employ people, are a big part of the economy) would go out of
business. A ripple effect would be seen almost immediately throughout
the economy, since most economies are tied to the US (although many
try to reject that fact) it would not be a simple be a US problem.

If you don't want telemarketing calls, get your name on the DNC and
keep it up to date. Tell them to remove you from lists. Keep logs.
Do not put your real number on websites gathering info and make your
number unlisted.

It is rare these days that I get a telemarketing call and they do
honor the Opt-Out option. The only one that I am logging and will
report are continual telemarketing from "Extended Vehicle Warranty"
company who do not actually allow you to opt-out and but do not
actually do it, call my cell phone everyday. I will file a complaint
if I get one more call.

Anyways, telemarketing done right is fine, although annoying to a
great many people. And again, done right, one request to be removed
from a list should end that particular company from calling again. If
they persist, they may be find a significant amoun

Finally, the OP never qualified ttif 5
