 I humbly suggest that if you want to be in business you should not
conduct it based on asking permission from anyone, specially from your
own potential competitors.  It is perfect if you consult your own
attorney, and better if you research, research, in this case on the
ownership of the word Asterisk, and read all legal documents that scope
the relationship between Digium and its customers.  And if as a result of
your research and inquiry, you find the law is on your side (and if you
have the money for a good attorney), then DO IT... But asking for
permission??? not even to Bill Gates.
