  What you are describing (but is powered by some Asterisk components)
is Star2Star.

  I was really excited about this type of architecture when the
founders of Star2Star first approached me to develop it almost two
years ago.  (read: I work for Star2Star).  Two years later we are
still adding applications and functionality.  It's always fun to find
out what works best (and where)! :)  Just in case anyone is curious,
we do run AstLinux on the CPE.

  Normally I don't bring up Star2Star but this is the -biz list...

  Speaking of work I'm sorry to jump into this so late - I was on vacation!
