I didnt check those links, but I do recall the nerdvittles one from quite a
while ago.  One thing that stood out in my mind was if there is a call
failure for any reason it wont detect and flag that for a later callback.
Perhaps the update does, but if that is something the original poster needs
in their app they may want to investigate that feature specifically.

To the general public:
Also, if you are in the US (or technically calling the US, although the
likelyhood of enforcement on a non-US entity is probably low but wont ever
be 0) depending on your specific message certain laws may apply.
donotcall.gov, as well as the FTC and FCC rules on calling (ie you cant make
2 or more lines in a business ring at  the same time, cant call hospitals,
dr offices, emergency numbers and other similar things, as well as time of
day, abandoned call ratios, etc).  Some states also have laws where if you
call anyone in that state you are supposed to register if you qualify
(california where 12% of the US lives is one such state).

If you are targeting US based people who did not opt-in to specifically a
telephone marketing campaign you may want to have legal review of exactly
what you are going to do, including message content to ensure you dont run
afoul of the many many many laws that exist on telecom stuff.  *generally*
if they voluntarially opted into a specific message or type of message there
isnt anything you have to do to call them even if in bulk.
