If these are UK numbers (and not Magrathea/Gamma/Jersey Telecom/Manx
Telecom/Telephony Services) numbers which are often not included in Free
minunte/text packages.

Aren't they subject to the OFCOM ruling regarding termination to mobile
numbers being required to be mobile devices? (making premicells illegal
if used for inbound purposes)?

If you only need a few, can't you just use a GSM modem?

Voipfone offer mobile numbers for receiving texts (free with an account)
in a Vodafone number range (well mine was). I don't know if this works
or whether there is an API available to use the service without going
onto the website.
