Growth strategy then hope to keep the customers after they introduce a
more realistic pricing model.

Personally I think this tactic is wearing very thin on end customers so
whilst it may increase their numbers during the trial the majority of
high value customers (eg profitable customers) wont even try a company
that is offering free so all it's going to do is cost them money.

Remember people, there is nothing wrong with earning an honest living
from a good value service. Customers trust vendors who are honest about
their costs and deliver a quality service.
