[asterisk-biz] Number transfer in & out of VOIP providers

I need to transfer a land line to VOIP carrier. Ordinarily, I would send 
it to Vonage, however, I just had a client tell me he couldn't get his 
number back from Vonage.

Any current war stories regarding getting numbers to & from various VOIP 
providers?
