In my opinion, you should build a test box with vanilla Asterisk, 
preferably use it for yourself so you get some pressure when you screw 
up, then evaluate your options. Look at Trixbox because of the level of 
integration and features it would take you a long time to configure, but 
also look at commercial offerings based on the project you are working 
on. Without an extensive knowledge of Asterisk, you won't bring much to 
the table.
