I have not seen anyone go "ballistic" although Omar Sabek seems a little
upset.

I'm just sitting here watching everyone on the list go ballistic....

I guess the original post was viery brief and maybe had a poor choice of
words too...

" For those who do not know what it is, Its a Prayer in memory of
Ishmael

son of Abraham, when he attempted to sacrifice his beloved son on
request by

god "

First of all you must understand that this was in another time in
another era where you could go down to the local markets and buy your
self your own slave which would then be your own property.

Second of all to be more clear, Abraham was issued a test to measure his
commitment to God, where he had a dream that he was to sacrifice his
son.

Upon him making the decision in his heart that he will obey "ALL"
commandments from God no mater what they are (as God can read into the
mind and hearts) then God sent his message that he should sacrifice a
goat and not his son.

"Muslim's celebrate it with a sacrifice of a goat every year"

Muslims go out and slaughter a goat or sheep or cow etc.. , bring it
home, light up the BBQ, have a great meal, and share with the poor and
needy.

"I belive Christians & Jew's belive in the same"

What he was trying to say was that Jews and Christians Acknowledge the
"story" of "Abraham's" sacrifice.

I hope this clarifies things a little and ............... Good

Now let's move on
