Personally, I keep all my CDRs in MySQL and have a bunch of Perl script 
to let me know about volume / ALOC / etc. It also automagically produces 
and sends out PDF invoices.

It's a bit crufty but it works and since I know Perl I can extend it as 
much as I need.
