This already happens to some extent, some carriers are lazy and don't wanna pull the info but there is a btn which identifies 1 or more anis in a normal network.  When you have a line you can send any ani on this btn is still available during call setup and can be logged with the call along with the carrier that sent the call. This may be a chain log depending on a few factors, ie the terminating lec may only know the ixc that sent it to them, the ixc knows the originating lec, and the originating lec knows the customer
