Check out www.aleph-com.net/astpp  I'm the author.  It is written to use 
MySQL but is open source.  If you would be interested in helping a 
little, I would be interested in making it work with postgreSQL also.  
I'm busy getting ready for a release and will have a demo box setup 
probably later this week.
