Linda, I think the answer is simple, you do not pay attention to people's
complaint about their request of deleting their email address from your
database, and therefore you are the one that made those complaints into a
curse.

"deleted" should NOT be a special type of folder of email addresses, they
should be totally erased from your system and the curse will stop.

If users were truely "deleted" then this would not be a problem.
