Well, very well worth it as long as the overall USA48 cost of a competitive
one.

If they are free on the 'normal' PSTN, use it, not the VoIP. When using a
VoIP provider, they will charge you for their service - which is
electricity, computer cost and depreciation, human resources to keep the
service up and running etc etc etc
