[Asterisk-biz] E1 with SS7 signaling

(Please correct me if I'm wrong)

SS7 is a complex stack involving many layers (MTP 1-3, SCCP,TCAP, ISUP).
I think you're talking about SSP and SCP.In SS7, one or more channels in
one or more E1s transport the signaling between a SSP(Service Switching
Point) and a SCP (Service Control Point). With only one channel between
an SCP and a SSP, an SCP can signal a huge amount of calls to the SSP.

What people usually talks about when talking about SS7 is ISUP, which is
somewhat like "EuroISDN". Then, when people here talks about "sending
calls over SS7", they really mean "sending calls over ISUP".
